Nobelium (No) is a radioactive, metallic element that is a member of the actinide series and also a transuranic element. It was first made in 1958 by bombarding curium with carbon at the University of California at Berkeley. Seven isotopes are known, the most stable of which is ²⁵⁵No (half-life: 3 minutes).
