    stationary point

    1. A point in space at which a body can remain essentially motionless with respect to other bodies; the best known examples are Lagrangian points.


    2. A position on the celestial sphere at which an outer planet ceases to move in right ascension before switching from direct motion to retrograde motion, or vice versa.
