In chemistry and mineralogy, amorphous means non-crystalline or having no definite shape or form. The atoms or molecules of an amorphous substance have no regular order. Supercooled liquids such as glass, rubber, and some plastics are amorphous. Many powders appear amorphous but are in fact microcrystalline in structure.
