The Centre for Alternative Technology (CAT) is a unique demonstration center designed to inspire, inform, and enable society to move towards ecologically sustainable lifestyles. Nestled in the hillsides of Southern Snowdonia, in Wales, CAT is Europe's leading environmental display centre. The seven-acre site includes interactive displays that demonstrate the power of wind, water, and sun and has working examples of environmentally responsible buildings, energy conservation, organic growing, and composting.

 

The Centre for Alternative Technology has been in existence for over 30 years. Its services include a visitor center open 7 days a week, practical and informative publications, a mailorder service of green books and products, educational services for schools, consultancy for individuals and businesses, residential courses, membership, and a free information service.
