The Committee on the Exploration of Extraterrestrial Space (CETEX) was a committee convened by the Council of Space Research (COSPAR), part of the International Council of Scientific Unions (ICSU), to make further recommendations concerning the issue of contamination by spacecraft. It produced two reports in 1959.^{1, 2}
