cyclotron radiation

Cyclotron radiation is electromagnetic radiation given off by charged particles that are spiraling along magnetic field lines. The cyclotron frequency (also known as the gyrofrequency), which is the number of times per second that a particle orbits a magnetic field line, is completely determined by the strength of the field and the particle's charge-to-mass ratio. The cyclotron frequency is twice the Larmor frequency of precession.
