Photochromic glass is a form of glass, used in spectacle lenses and electronic devices, which darkens on exposure to ultraviolet or bright visible light. It fades to its original clear state when the light is removed. Silver chloride or silver bromide crystals throughout the glass interact with light to cause this change.
