Servetus, Michael (1511–1553)
Michael Servetus, also known as Miguel Serveto, was a Spanish biologist and theologian. In Christianity Restored he mentioned in passing his discovery of the pulmonary circulation. For heretical views expressed in this book he was denounced by the Calvinist to the Spanish Inquisition: escaping, he made the mistake of visiting Geneva where he was seized by the Protestants, tried heresy and burned alive.
