Turbellaria are free-living, leaf-shaped Platyhelminthes composed of three layers of cells. Turbellarians are found in ponds, rivers, and the sea, and grow to a length of 10–35 millimeters (0.4–1.4 inches). They have a branched gut with a single external opening.
