Amphitrite

In Greek mythology, Amphitrite was a sea-goddess, daughter of Nereus, or of Oceanus, and wife of Poseidon. When the latter demanded her in marriage, she fled to Mount Atlas, but was discovered by a dolphin, which Poseidon had sent after her, and borne back by him. In sculpture, she is often represented sitting next to Poseidon, or drawn by Tritons.
