Stabat Mater
The Stabat Mater is a Latin hymn, composed in the 13th century, commemorating the sorrows of the Virgin Mary at the crucifixion of Jesus. Its author is believed to have been either the Franciscan friar Jacopone da Todi or Pope Innocent III. The Stabat Mater has been set to music by many Western composers, including Verdi and Dvořák
