Penfield, Wilder Graves (1891–1976)
Wilder Penfield was a US-born Canadian neurosurgeon who, in treating patients with epilepsy, helped to map the sensory and
motor areas of the cerebral cortex by stimulating various areas with tiny
electrical probes. His works include Epilepsy and Functional Anatomy
of the Human Brain 1954) and Speech and Brain Mechanisms (1960).
